#GivingTuesday is the perfect punctuation of gratitude to the Thanksgiving weekend and the ideal precursor to the joy-filled holiday season.  In its sixth year, this newly anointed movement encourages philanthropic giving by encouraging people to donate to their favorite charities.

Aspen Entrepreneurs (AE) invites you to join us as we give the gift of opportunity on this #GivingTuesday to the future generation of business leaders in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley.  Our growing community of smart, curious and dedicated young entrepreneurs all share one thing in common and that is AE’s #GiveFirst ethos inspired by the early startup pioneers on Colorado’s Front Range.

To date, AE’s grassroots efforts have amassed thousands of hours to help our beloved Valley maintain economic resiliency, which ironically has become increasingly harder with the advent of Black Friday and Cyber Monday since both don’t target locally-owned businesses. The Western Slope’s local retailers and entrepreneurs remain hard pressed to compete with Amazon, Walmart, Target, Home Depot and other big box giants.  Yet, if we want to remain cities that celebrate originality allowing a collective personality to shine through, then we need to put our money where our mouth is…today.

We all desire the ability to strive for our dreams, to work for what we believe in with our skills and talents—contributing to the wellbeing and economic health of the towns in which we are woven into the fabric.  And more often than not, it is someone else that ignites that moment of opportunity, that catalyst that enables us to chase after those dreams.

Please help us to turn entrepreneurs’ dreams into realities this coming year.  Give the gift of opportunity and be the catalyst that converts young entrepreneurs into successful, thriving business owners.  By doing so, we’re all banding together to ensure that from Glenwood Springs to Aspen our downtown experiences will be abuzz with diversity and vitality for all the holidays seasons to come.
